We want more mid-coast families to choose cloth diapers. Once our first child potty trained, we started Buzzie Bee Diapers to offer other families healthy, simple, convenient, and affordable diapering solutions. Buzzie Bee Diapers evolved out of our family’s values... we make intentioned decisions which reflect our respect for life - past, present and future. We bring years of practical experience diapering our own children and deliberate practices which preserve the environment today for tomorrow. We believe in and promote the short and long-term benefits of cloth diapering, energy efficiency, green laundering, and doing business locally. Buzzie Bee Diapers is the most responsible choice parents can make for the health of their babies and of the planet.

ROCKLAND — The starched whites and giant safety pins are long gone, replaced by cheery colors and soft imported fabrics. Fastening a glorified dinner napkin around an infant’s waist, for their waste, is an artifact of bygone times when compared to the new world order of cloth diapers. . . . Read more CLICK here.

how IS Buzzie Bee
environmentally friendly?

• Buzzie Bee Diapers uses nylon hamper liners which can be reused time and again during a customer’s time with us. They also double as great laundry bags, beach/pool toy totes, camp bags.

• We use both sides of a piece of paper. You’ll find our packaging and invoicing material to be recycled and reused paper. What we can’t reuse, we certainly recycle.

• Buzzie Bee Diapers makes the most of the miles we must drive. Routes are mapped out to be as efficient as possible. Our delivery vehicle is routinely maintained so we get the best gas mileage possible.

• Once pre-folds, wipes and doublers are retired from the diaper service, they begin anew as rags.

• At our home, we make a concerted effort to shop locally and in season. We shop and volunteer at The Good Tern food co-op.

microenterprise

A microenterprise is a business that employs 5 or fewer individuals. Maine’s economy is held together by thousands of microenterprises. When you choose to do business with a local microenterprise over a national or multi-national company, you make the decision for the dollars you spend to remain local. In the long run, conducting business this manner will reduce dependence on public assistance, improve health, and reduce pollution.

To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded. -Ralph Waldo Emerson, writer + philosopher (1803-1882)
